Railay Beach Garden View Resort Booking
Railay Garden View will be closed for September 2013
Railay Garden View resort was finished in 2009, and has been developed by the same family who owns Railay Bay and Princes resorts. Their approach this time
has been rather different, kind of retro old style. This means that it is the good side of rough, with appealing traditional wooden bungalows in a jungly relaxed setting.
It is basic but comfortable, with quality mattress, and linen. There is no AC but there is a fan.
For many people this is an ideal combination. The atmosphere is friendly and laid back, and being tucked away from the crowds it feel like
a sanctuary from the bustle below.
Due to the secluded nature of the it can be difficult to find the first time. For that reason it is important that you get a
transfer to the resort when you arrive. The resort is likely to appeal to backpackers, as it is about a 10 minute walk to the beach
and there are stairs. The only down side to the resort is that to gain access to the rather attractive path they have built, you have to
negotiate your way through the last bar, then back through their storage area and out the other side onto the path.
At night this can provide you with a quick voyeuristic view of the more colorful side of life, while in the morning depending
on the severity of the night, you can pick your way through the detritus...
There are two types of fan bungalows. If you can afford it I would recommend the Sea View. These are really rather nice, wooden floors,
nicely finished, built into the side of the hill and depending on the luck of the draw some of them do indeed have a sea view.
The Garden View bungalows are also nice.
